I’ve made a playlist on 8tracks inspired by the new book.
The songs alternate between New Zealand and American bands (with Galaxie 500 wedged directly in the middle), starting with the upbeat pop of “Wellington” and meandering toward confused chaos, drawing to a close with the quiet noise of the Stumps.

In addition to the [still forthcoming] publication of The Homeland of Pure Joy with Lawrence & Gibson in New Zealand, the novel will be published in the United States by Portland’s maybeparade press.
I will be in Portland on May 2nd to celebrate the book’s release at Beech Street Parlor with the maybeparade crew, then heading north for readings in Olympia and Seattle.
